First Line/Last Line

    ⚡️ Short Form Game
    🎭 Scenework

    Categories:
    • Justification
    • Listening

Find a way to link two unconnected pieces of dialogue. But really: remember the last line!

    Setup and Format

    • 2-3 players.
    • Prior to the game, get a first line and last line. This could come from random sentences in a book, audience suggestions, pre-written lines from the audience, etc.

At the beginning of the game, the host reads aloud the first line of the scene and then the last line of the scene.

The players then start a scene, where the very first spoken line of dialogue must be the first line. The scene then continues, with all players aiming to make a coherent scene while leading the scene towards a point where the prescribed last line of dialogue is spoken (naturally, in the reality of the scene).

    Learning Objectives

The hardest part of this game is memory - the first line is easy, but keep the last line in mind.
