Explore the infinite sublocations possibilities found within a general location.
Setup and Format
- For 1 or more players.
One person names a broad, general location. Going around the circle (or in any order desired), each person names a sublocation that exists within this location. The sublocation does not need to necessarily be physically within the location, and it does not need to be a finite walled room within that location. Just a place within that location where a scene could conceivably take place.
Learning Objectives
This exercise teaches that specificity is a powerful spice for scenes. Instead of being in <location> it now has the specific details of being <specific sublocation>. Encourage players to use this during regular scenework.
Examples
Location 'City Park'
- Playground
- Duck Pond
- Gardener's Shed
- Football Field
- Behind the gnarled old spooky tree
- On the roof of the public bathrooms
